Skanderbeg's City (Stelush Castle)

Stelush Castle is located on a rocky ridge at an altitude of over 1000 meters, near the village of Qafë Murrë, on the right side of the Varosh stream and its canyon, which also marks the border between Dibra and Mat. The castle occupies a strategic position, fully controlling the Qafë Murrë road that connects the Peshkopia basin with the Mat basin and the coastal regions.

The castle preserves three rows of surrounding walls, built with uncertain techniques dating from the late antique and medieval periods. Traces of prehistoric fortifications are also visible on the eastern side of the first terrace of Varosh, which extends south of the castle over an area of approximately 2 hectares. Stelush Castle is located within the territory of the Selishtë Administrative Unit.
