The Museum of Testimony and Memory is an important place for historical memory in Albania, reflecting the period of the totalitarian communist regime and the difficult reality of the time. The building where the museum is located was built in 1930 by the Franciscan fathers and initially served as a school and educational institution.
Today, the museum preserves the cells and narrow corridors, offering visitors a direct testimony of the reality of that period. Since 2014, the building has been open to the public as a memorial museum, thanks to the efforts of civil society and cooperation with local authorities, becoming an educational and reflective destination for visitors who want to understand the history of the country.
