The Inglizi Tower, also known as the Inglizi Clock, is one of the most unique historical monuments of Shkodra. It was built in the XNUMXth century by Lord Alfred Paget, a British diplomat and traveler, who had connections with the local elite and contributed to the cultural and social life of the city.
The tower is located in one of the most visible points of the city and served as a public clock for residents, at a time when the use of standardized time was still a novelty. Its architecture, built with worked stone and elegant details, reflects the English Victorian style and shows the combination of Western influences and local tradition.
The square structure rises in several levels and ends with the clock mechanism at the top, which has served for decades as a public clock for citizens. The Inglizi Tower is a symbol of Shkodra's early connections with Western culture and a testament to the urban and modernizing influences that the city has had over the centuries.
