Divjakë–Karavasta National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders of Albania and the heart of tourism in the Divjakë municipality. It extends over an area of over 22 thousand hectares and includes lagoons, coastal pine forests, golden sandy beaches, marshes and salt flats. This diverse landscape gives the park a great natural wealth and makes it a unique place in the entire Mediterranean region. For this reason, the park has been declared an internationally protected area and is part of the Ramsar Convention list, having particular importance for the conservation of biodiversity.
The pine forest that stretches along the coast is another asset of the park. It is the only natural coastal pine forest in Albania and offers numerous opportunities for hiking, cycling and relaxation in nature. A 36-meter-high panoramic tower has also been erected in the heart of the park, from where a 360-degree view of the forests, the lagoon and the sea can be enjoyed. The view is especially beautiful at sunset, when the sky turns colorful and reflects on the calm waters of the lagoon.
Divjakë–Karavasta National Park is not only a tourist attraction, but also a natural laboratory open to researchers, biologists and ecotourism enthusiasts. It offers unique experiences such as boat trips through the lagoon, bird watching, guided tours with nature specialists and tasting traditional local dishes, especially fresh fish and special crustaceans found only there. This park is a national treasure that best represents the beauty, richness and natural diversity of Albania.
