Another important monument is the Ardenica Monastery, built in the 13th century on the ruins of an ancient temple. This monastery represents a powerful religious and cultural center, where architecture, Byzantine frescoes and iconography coexist in complete harmony. In the center of the monastery is the church of the “Nativity of the Virgin Mary”, built of volcanic bricks and white stone, which preserves the original beauty and religious symbolism of the time.
