The Shijak Mosque was damaged by the 2019 earthquake and a new building will be built in its place, using a much larger area, thanks to the land that was acquired by the decision of the Shijak Municipal Council. The new Shijak Mosque will be built by creating a multifunctional religious complex that suits the current situation, the architectural physiognomy of the city, the Albanian Islamic tradition and the national and religious history of the city.
