The Church of St. Kolli in Përmet is one of the most important monuments of the Orthodox cult in the area, known for its traditional architecture and early history. It dates back to the medieval period, with most scholars placing its origin around the 16th–17th centuries, a time when religious and cultural activity flourished in Përmet.
Built of stone and with a roof covered with stone tiles, the church presents the typical features of Albanian architecture of that time. It preserves old frescoes, icons and elements that reflect Byzantine influences and the tradition of iconographic masters of southern Albania.
Historically, the Church of St. Kolli has served as an important spiritual center for the residents of the area and has undergone several stages of restoration to preserve its cultural values. Today, it is a tourist attraction for visitors exploring Përmet, offering a rare combination of history, ecclesiastical art, and a peaceful, authentic atmosphere.
