The Karst of the White Mountain

Mali i Bardhë is located at an altitude of 1600–1966 meters above sea level. The development of karst formations has created features such as wells, funnels, and grooves, especially on its western slope. Mali i Bardhë is composed mainly of gypsum, the color of which gives the mountain its name. The giant white dome of evaporite rocks is notable for its isometric shape, colossal size, and striking whiteness. The mountain is approximately 1200 meters long and up to 230 meters wide. It can be visited by following the Peshkopi–Sllatinë–Grama road.
