Dimal Castle

The ancient site of Dimal lies on a strategic hill 444 meters above sea level, near Shpirag and the Berat-Fier road, with remains of surrounding walls, acropolis and porticos that testify to its grandeur and importance during the Illyrian and Anti-Roman periods. Its proximity to Apollonia and Bylis makes it a natural bridge for trade and cultural relations. However, after excavations carried out mainly in the 60s by Burhan Dauta and other researchers, the situation has remained unstable due to lack of maintenance, vegetation cover and lack of complete surveying.
