The Habitat of the Alpine Star – A Pearl of Endemic Flora in the Polis of Librazhd

The Alpine Star Habitat is a natural area of special ecological importance, where the endemic Alpine Star (Leontopodium alpinum) plant grows – a species that is not found very often and that bears unique floristic characteristics.

This area is located within the Polis mountain range, part of the “Polis” Managed Nature Reserve, where the limestone relief and mountain climate create ideal conditions for alpine plants, pastures and other species specific to different altitudes. The combination of rich endemic flora and mountain fauna makes this a sustainable place for studies, conservation and nature tourism.
