Apollonia

Apollonia Archaeological Park is located in southwestern Albania, just 12 kilometers from Fier, on a hilly plateau that offers sweeping views of the fertile plain of Myzeqe and the Adriatic Sea.

Apollonia preserves numerous historical monuments, including the Odeon, the library, the portico, the mosaic villas, the monastery of St. Mary and the Byzantine church of the 14th century. The city was also a key point on the trans-Balkan road Via Egnatia, where the Roman emperor Octavian also trained. The natural beauty and the well-preserved ruins make Apollonia a special place for archaeological studies and tourist visits.

Apollonia represents one of the most important treasures of Albanian cultural heritage and is a favorite destination for tourists seeking to explore history and nature in a peaceful and inspiring environment. Thanks to its location close to the main cities and beautiful beaches of the Ionian Riviera, it offers excellent opportunities for the development of cultural tourism in Albania.
