Albania All Senses: Albania as a Year-Round Destination at FITUR Madrid 2026

Albania was presented with a clear vision at the International Tourism Fair FITUR 2026 in Madrid—one of the world’s most important global travel industry events, bringing together over 160 countries and more than 10 companies from around the globe. Under the slogan “Albania All Senses,” the country returned with a modern and immersive stand, offering an experience that blended emotion, flavor, tradition, and innovation.

From January 21–25, 2026, Albania promoted its position as an authentic, sustainable, and year-round destination, showcasing its natural and cultural diversity to an international audience and tourism professionals, particularly from the Spanish market.

An experience for all the senses

The Albanian stand became a key reference point within the Europe Pavilion, attracting exceptional interest thanks to interactive experiences such as virtual reality, tastings of traditional products, live performances, handcrafted works, and Albania’s signature hospitality. Visitors were invited to discover Albania through scents, flavors, sounds, and stories that make the country truly unique.

This immersive approach further strengthened Albania’s image as a destination to be experienced throughout the year.

Strategic discussions on the future of tourism

The “Albania All Senses” stand also hosted panel discussions focused on expanding the tourism offer beyond the coastline, Mediterranean cooperation, and the role of culture, events, and creative industries in the development of sustainable tourism.

Discussions highlighted the importance of diversifying tourism products, developing rural and regional tourism, actively involving local communities, and striking a balance between growth and the preservation of cultural identity.

Particular emphasis was placed on sustainability and responsibility as competitive advantages for Albanian tourism—viewed not as trends, but as long-term necessities.

Growing interest and international recognition

Albania’s presence at FITUR was accompanied by positive media coverage, including an article by the Spanish daily La Razón, which described Albania as one of the Mediterranean’s most pleasant surprises.

In 2025, more than 110.000 Spanish tourists visited Albania. The goal is to further increase this flow by expanding air connections, strengthening international promotion, and creating authentic experiences that combine nature, culture, and hospitality.

Strategic meetings and new partnerships

During FITUR 2026 in Madrid, a series of bilateral and professional meetings were held with representatives of major international tourism companies, airlines, hotel groups, investors, and global marketing experts.

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Mr. Blendi Gonxhja, held important meetings with international counterparts and partners in the framework of strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and exchanging best practices. As well as professional meetings focused on strategic investment opportunities, structuring tourism projects, long-term partnerships and concrete interest in the Albanian market.

The Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, held official and professional meetings with high-level institutional representatives and executives from leading international tourism, investment, and marketing companies. These meetings focused on strengthening international cooperation, exchanging best practices in destination promotion and management, and increasing Albania’s presence in strategic tourism markets.

Within this framework, concrete opportunities were discussed for long-term partnerships, expanded air connectivity, strategic investments, and the promotion of sustainable, high-quality tourism. The strong interest shown by key international industry players confirms Albania’s growing consolidation as a competitive and authentic destination, as well as the commitment of the National Tourism Agency to positioning the country at the highest levels of the global travel industry.

Innovation and digitalization serving tourism

A highlight of Albania’s presence was the presentation of the TEA app – Albania’s 360° Digital Tourism Guide, which provides year-round information on destinations, events, culture, and activities. High interest and over 5.000 downloads from Spain alone confirm the value and growing demand for digital solutions in modern destination promotion.

Albania – hospitality, identity, and vision

Throughout FITUR 2026, the Albanian stand was marked by energy, collaboration, and the strong commitment of institutions, municipalities, partners, tour operators, and Albanian representatives in Spain—united by a shared goal: promoting Albania as a safe, open, and welcoming destination.

Albania is a country that respects tradition, invests in quality, and looks to the future with confidence. It is a destination that welcomes its guests with heart and offers unforgettable experiences 365 days a year.
