AKT and German Tour operators travel to several tourist destinations in Albania

The National Tourism Agency organized a several-day visit with the highest representatives of the Association of German Tour Operators (DRV), headed by the President of the Association, Mr. Norbert Fiebig, and leaders of Travel Agencies, who came to Albania driven by the high interest of German tourists to see up close the great tourist potential that our country offers.

Accompanied by the Director of the National Tourism Agency, Mr. Zana Çela, the German Tour – Operators visited the premises of the “Salih Ceka” Vocational High School in the city of Elbasan where they were received by the Mayor of Elbasan, Mr. Gledian Llatja. He appreciated this important investment of the Albanian government in cooperation with donations from the Swiss and German governments, where 600 students study, among them, 200 in the Hotel – Tourism branch as well as in the tailoring, installation of solar panels, photovoltaic ones, thermo-hydraulics cabinets.

Between the beautiful Albanian Riviera and cultural heritage, through the suggestions of the main destinations of the National Tourism Agency, the trip continued to UNESCO's Gjirokastra with a walk in the Qafë e Pazarit, in the beautiful cobblestone alleys, stops at the Ethnographic Museum, the house of our great writer Ismail Kadare, where the guests from Germany were welcomed by the Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Flamur Golemi. In the Argjiro Castle, the German Tour – Operators enjoyed the rhythms and sounds of the National Folklore Festival.

Then the visit to Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, left a stunning impression on German Tour Operators, who considered this archaeological site in Albania as an elite offer for German tourists.

At the end of the visit to Albania, the Association of German Tour Operators also held a meeting with some of the leaders of the Associations of Tour Operators and Albanian hoteliers, who presented the services in some of the hotels on the Golem coast in Durrës and expressed their interest in cooperating with the Association of German Tour Operators in promoting Albania as a tourist destination and welcoming German tourists to Albania.

The Director of AKT, Zana Çela, revealed as an added value for Albanian tourism, the National Calendar of Cultural and Traditional Tourism Events and the TEA Application (Tourism Events of Albania), which gives tourists the opportunity to explore from their mobile phone and become part of cultural, heritage, sports and artistic activities by selecting them according to preference, age group, date or destination. The TEA application will now, through cooperation with the Association of German Tour Operators, be part of the tourist offers of German tourism agencies.
