If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life, Sotira Farm is the place for you. This farm is located far from the chaos of the city, in the southeastern district of Kolonja, near the border with Greece.
Walking around the farm, you will see animals moving freely, which are especially enjoyed by young visitors, who are excited to feed the ducks, chickens and geese, pet the cats and dogs, and admire the little piglets that follow their mother in search of food. The stables for the horses and the winter shelters for the cows and sheep are located behind a hollow of trees and across a small stream.
Four of the farm's twenty horses can be used for riding, traversing the network of muddy roads and narrow trails, to discover herds of cattle grazing in the mountains.
The main tourist season lasts from April to October, but the family lives on the farm and welcomes visitors all year round, even in snowy winters, when temperatures can reach -20°C.
Thanks to 20 years of experience, the family has acquired regenerative skills and Sotira Farm has managed to succeed despite the difficulties, with a restaurant always full of visitors enjoying the fresh and organic food. Traditional dishes include cabbage with nettles, sheep's yogurt, oven-roasted chicken, duck or goose with rice and dried meats.
The farm offers camping space for up to 30 camper vans, very popular with foreign tourists who travel with their own vehicles. Near the entrance to the farm are nine small wooden cottages, each with two rooms, with single or double beds, equipped with private bathrooms and handmade furniture.
