"Beyond the analysis of the Calendar of Events, I express my gratitude to the Municipality of Shkodra, which, besides Tirana, is ranked as one of the main municipalities that has developed the tourist panorama of Albania during this year, with 259 event nights. With these results, Shkodra leads the municipalities of the country and positions itself as a model of cultural tourism promotion.
"Shkodra is one of the most beautiful success stories in promoting cultural, artistic and tourist activities in Albania, a clear example of what is achieved when vision, tradition and innovation come together in the service of tourism."
This was emphasized by the Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Cela, in the meeting with the Mayor of Shkodra, Mr. Benet Beci. Ms. Çela appreciated the valuable cooperation in enriching TEA - the national digital platform of Albania's tourist events, events that are now also available in the TEA application.
Among the wide range of activities this year, those of a multi-art character stand out, such as the ArtFest category, which reflect the creative energy and artistic spirit characteristic of the city of Shkodra.
During the conversation, the General Director of AKT suggested further promoting the values of traditional crafts and handicrafts through events that could be turned into multi-art festivals, with the aim of attracting tourists, as well as organizing cultural events dedicated to youth.
Mayor Beci expressed his commitment to increasing youth participation, starting with the involvement of the Youth Council – KVR – as a key link in creating a sustainable chain of interest and commitment of the younger generation to civic activities. Mr. Beci also presented infrastructure projects along the lake and the Buna River, which are expected to increase the city’s tourist potential and recreational spaces.
