The Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, hosted today in an official meeting the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Albania, Ms. Gabriel Cremades Ventura, as well as Ms. Blanca Pérez-Sauquillo, Director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Milan and Consul General of Spain in this city, who heads the Spanish delegation that arrived in Tirana to present the new direct Tirana-Santander line and promote the Cantabria region.
During the meeting, the Director General of AKT presented an overview of the development of the tourism sector in Albania, focusing particularly on the Tourism Strategy 2030, priorities for sustainable development, investments in infrastructure, as well as the increased presence of international hotel brands in the last five years.
Ms. Çela emphasized the importance of promoting Albania's diverse tourism offer, not only through participation in international fairs, but also through modern and digital forms of communication, which increase Albania's visibility in global markets.
For his part, Ambassador Gabriel Cremades Ventura expressed his admiration for the increase in the number of Spanish tourists in Albania, emphasizing that the country has become an increasingly popular and preferred holiday destination, thanks to its diversified tourist offer.
According to the data, during the first quarter of 2026, 10,485 Spanish tourists visited Albania, an increase of 17.03% compared to the same period last year. While during 2025, the number of Spanish tourists reached 108,166.
