In a significant move for promoting Albania’s cultural,
historical, and natural heritage, the Minister of Tourism and Environment,
Mirela Kumbaro, and the Rector of the College of Europe, Federica Mogherini,
have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Tirana.
This agreement outlines plans to engage students from the
College of Europe in promoting Albania’s fantastic destinations. Under the
memorandum, the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the National Tourism
Agency, will craft tourist itineraries and provide guidance through certified
guides, aimed at showcasing Albania’s diverse offerings.
During the signing ceremony, attended by the Director
General of the National Tourism Agency, Zana Çela, Minister Kumbaro expressed
her delight that the College of Europe will host not only Albanian students but
also students from across Europe. These students will not only receive
education in diplomacy, political science, and oratory but will also have the
opportunity to visit Albania. They will serve as new ambassadors for promoting
Albanian tourism across the continent, drawing from their personal perspectives
and experiences.
Rector Mogherini highlighted the memorandum’s significance,
offering an intriguing opportunity for College of Europe students to intimately
understand and experience Albanian culture, natural treasures, and historical
heritage firsthand.
